How can changing your diet change your life?
There are many things to consider in trying to make healthier choices in our lives. When we really stop and think about it, we may wonder why we did not make the necessary changes sooner.
One needs to start with small steps, in order to produce lasting change. One small step leads to another and before we know it, we are on our way to a healthier future. By making just a few changes, we have started a chain reaction to our health and our lives.
So let’s start with diet, since we all need fuel for our bodies. Think you are too busy to plan your meals? In just 15 minutes you can be on the path to a healthier dinner by plugging in the crock pot. This can be done believe it or not, during your busy morning.
For example, this morning I was in a rush to get the dog to the groomer, get the kids up and moving and myself to work on time. I had racing thoughts about dinner and decided to turn to my best friend, the crock pot.
This is what I added: 4 cups of chicken broth, 1 cup of rice & wild rice mixure, 1/2 cup chopped onion, 1/2 cup chopped/diced carrots, 2 frozen chicken breasts. 1 Tbsp of my favorite basic seasoning. I set the crock pot for 6 hours on low. When I get home this afternoon, I will shred the chicken breast (now cooked) and add it back to the soup. If I need to add more liquid, I can always add more chicken broth later just before serving.
Granted, I always have a few staples on hand (like the ones used in the quick recipe above) to be sure I can put something together with minimal fuss if I need to. By making sure I had dinner planned and started before I left this morning, I have made it easier to return home from work less frazzled this afternoon.
This small step, will make a better evening. Which leads to me thinking positively about my day, feeling good about my choices and may even lead to me working out before we have dinner! One small step, lead to many great things in an otherwise normal Tuesday.
This can happen for you too 🙂
Make it a great day,
Jes
