What We Do

Your body is like an onion.

Layers of experiences and layers of responses build up: injuries, prolonged and repetitive positions, viruses, job changes, divorces or deaths, environment like foods and living spaces, sports- everything your body goes through is reflected in the layers of your body; much like the layers of an onion.

On a cellular level, the body is constantly changing. Your 75 trillion cells are tagging, digesting, removing toxins, and nourishing new and healthy parts every hour of every day. Even the fastest tissues take six to eight weeks to complete this process; in the liver it takes five months, and in bones a year or longer.

When you come to see a new practitioner, especially a bodyworker, you will be asked a bunch of questions about lifestyle, habits, illnesses, and surgeries. Even if it doesn’t seem relevant, that practitioner is trying to peel away the layers of the onion to understand how you came to the place where you are right now.

There is no short cut to the healing process.

The layers to this healing process are not only physical (spinal alignment and muscle knots), but also emotional and chemical. That is why we utilize the tools we have in our office to unwind through all the layers of healing. It takes time to acquire the layers, and it takes time to peel them away. That is why it is such a powerful choice to work together, and work with other practitioners that align with our values such as naturopaths, craniosacral therapists, acupuncturists, homeopaths and holistic doctors to help your body heal in all aspects.

It is a guarantee you will learn about yourself on your way through all the layers of healing. We are honored you have chosen us to be a part of that process.

Dr. Christine
