What to expect in a session:

To assess how your body is doing, shiatsu practitioners take your pulse and look at your tongue same as an acupuncturist would to see how the organ systems are functioning at their different levels. Once an assessment has been made, the appropriate meridians will be worked along with stretches to improve symptoms. TCM believes the abdomen is the root of all health since it houses most of your organs, so abdominal work typically will be done within your comfort level. Please wear loose comfortable clothing for ease in stretches within your movement range.

Just like regular vehicle maintenance, routine Shiatsu sessions can keep the body running the way it should, and reduce wear and tear. Shiatsu can be combined with massage therapy, chiropractic care, and an overall self-care routine to help you achieve your health care goals.
